The Organization for the Development of People (ODP) is the Mysore Diocesan Social Service Society, working for the upliftment of poor, needy and marginalized families since January 1984, in the 4 districts of Mysore, Mandya, Kodagu and Chamarajanagar. Our primary focus is on – Women Empowerment, Natural Resource Management, Capacity Building , Good Governance, Health and Sanitation, Livelihood Enhancement , and Academics.

ODP aims at bringing about change in people for the better. It involves change in their attitudes, values and social systems which are detrimental for their growth. ODP’s vision is to provide education, awareness and empowerment to create a more equal, just, peaceful and prosperous individuals and communities, without any discrimination on the basis of Caste, Creed or Race.

ODP’s goal is integrated development. i.e., development of human being as a whole. In the development process, ODP acts as enabler, encourager and facilitator and aims at creating active and committed leaders in the Community.

Through various programs, our Endeavour is to enable people to think and analyze their situation, discover their capabilities and potential, unite them together to act collectively in resolving their problems and facilitate them to take their own rational decisions which will be suitable in a given situation and in accordance with local conditions and finally leading them to become the agents of their own development and growth.

But more emphasis is laid on women, small/marginal farmers and the landless and those people who are the most marginalized among the disadvantaged. ODP in all its programs has given special emphasis to the empowerment of women and conservation of natural resource management and livelihood enhancement activities.
